My work, which is in research related to climate mitigation, makes me each day aware of how much we need to do, and how little and wrong we do.
Music has such healing power. There are so many great songs, so many great singers. But I was lacking good texts about what we are doing with our planet. So I started rewriting the lyrics of some wonderful songs and filled them with my feelings about climate change - frustration, impatience, deception, grief, hope, anger, persistence - the strength of a good cause, the love of life on earth and the love of my wife and my children.
It would be great if these songs could be sung by someone who can express these feelings. Meanwhile I can hear the ones I love - Dylan, Lennon, McCartney, Harrison, Hull, Young - singing these texts in my head.
